From the factory she was born a Reef Blue, black gut, LX hatchback. 3 years ago she went under the knife for a complete build in every aspect and is nearing the finish line next season. This was the first car i have ever built so i did not know what to expect financially, but cars are my passion so i was ready to accept whatever obstacles were thrown my way. I bought the car from Long Island, NY for $9,000 in July 2020. She came with a 68\' block that was stroked out to a 347ci N/A paired to a TKO600 and McLeod Street Extreme clutch making around 400whp. Fast forward 2 months of owning i went forward with an On3 Turbo setup that ran me about $3,000. Made it over to the dyno an the setup made 570whp/650tq at 11psi on 93 pump gas. Enjoyed for about 4 months an ripped everything out. This is where the snowball starts snowballing, and the dominos start falling .. Put the mostly all my time and effort into my job as a Union Local 103 Licensed Electrician as started working 7 10hr days a week soaking up the doubletime to prepare myself for my dream build. I sold the motor, turbo kit, and transmission and put the funds towards a fresh blueprinted assembly Dart Iron Eagle 363ci short block. While waiting for it to show up, my very close an dear friend of mine Danny Duarte and I figured while everything was out of the car let\'s decide at this very moment this build will not take shortcuts, absolutely no cut corners, and a build done the right way. We started with some serious planning and all new sheet metal. Fast forward a couple months, the car had a clean slate to make this vision of mine come true. We were hitting the ground running to put everything together. Not realizing how much things cost due to this being my first build, I quickly understood that building your dream car goes from being a passion to sometimes a privilege. I wanted the best of everything i could afford and wasn\'t going to settle. Needless to say, i have replaced everything i could have all the way down to every nut and bolt, leaving with a current and STILL CLIMBING TOTAL of $104,000 ... The pictures body work and paint alone don\'t do any justice to show the pure skill and talent Steve has. Fast foward to now.. Still in the assembly stage, taking every bit of caution I now have a longblock, fully custom coldside, of course the McLeod RXT1200HD sitting perfectly inbetween my built T56 Magnum with the must have Tick Performance front billet plate, and a fully built 9.6:1 Dart 363ci. My goal is to make 800whp on 93 pump gas and 1000+whp on C16, but we will cross that bridge when its time to wake her up. This entire process has been life changing for me. The amount of knowledge i have learned from Danny, the rewarding feeling of checking one thing after another off my to-do list, an the people that i have already met just from this passion we all share has been unforgettable and greatly appreciated in more ways than i can explain. The only things left to do is wire the entire car from scratch which i will be doing myself, couple odds and ends, then shes off to the dyno for her first start up.
